FARGO – In theory, I like the idea of a pre-made, minimal-assembly lunch wrap. In practice, I don’t.
I’d heard of Lean Cuisine’s Salad Additions, a boxed salad kit that includes everything except the lettuce, but I was more interested in the new Wrap Additions, the same idea but minus the tortilla.
Wrap Additions come in Chicken Teriyaki, Creamy Balsamic Chicken, Turkey Ranch and Buffalo-Style Chicken.
I picked up the Buffalo-Style Chicken on a recent Target run and tried it for lunch Monday.
The box includes a spicy buffalo-style spread, buffalo-style seasoned white meat chicken, carrots, celery, tomatoes and onions.
As promised, the chicken was tender and the veggies crisp, but the wrap was so runny it ate through the napkin I put it on, even after draining the excess water from the steam pouch.
I also had a hard time keeping the wrap in one piece and ended up eating the last of its contents with a fork.
Bottom line: Tasted OK, but too messy.
