FARGO - A new smoothie shop called Tropical Smoothie Café will open Monday at 2424 13th Ave. S.
The franchise is owned by James Hensyel and Ryan Seeger, who also own Core Fitness, a 24-hour accessible fitness facility in Fargo, and a company called Valpak, a direct mail marketing company.
Fargo’s Tropical Smoothie will be one of more than 400 Tropical Smoothies nationwide, according to Hensyel, who described the restaurant’s menu as bold, flavorful food and smoothies with a healthy appeal.
“Our smoothies are made with real whole fruit,” he said. “Our toasted wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads and gourmet salads are made fresh with high-quality meats and cheeses and topped with fresh produce and flavorful sauces.”
The smoothie shop will also offer all-day breakfast offerings, including bagels, sandwiches and wraps.
Hensyel said the Fargo store will be one of five in the nation to receive Tropical Smoothie’s new store décor.
Hours for the shop will be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The business plans to hire 15 to 20 workers and applications are still being received.
Hensyel said a grand opening celebration will be held in May.
