Edwin Cink

Edwin Cink of Sacramento, CA passed away at the age of 88 in Vista, CA on November 28, 2013, where he lived the last two years of his life near his loving stepson and family.

Edwin Cink was born June 5, 1925, to Bessie and Joseph Cink who farmed near Stirum, ND. He was the youngest of 12 children, two who died in childhood. After high school, Edwin moved to San Antonio, TX, joining his older brother Frank and his wife Clarice. There he got his start working as an Army aircraft mechanic, while Frank taught flying lessons to new recruits in the Army Air Corps. After the war, Edwin returned to North Dakota and attended Wahpeton School of Science, earning his degree in airplane mechanics. During the Korean War, Edwin served as a radio transmitter, which spurred an interest in his short-wave radio hobby.

Cindy Rae Stampka, 58, of Fargo, formerly of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, July 5th, 2014 at Elim Care Center in Fargo.

Cindy Rae Stampka was born August 31, 1955 at Jamestown, ND, to Alex and Fern (Frederick) Stampka. She was educated in Jamestown and at the age of 18 moved to Fargo and attended vocational training at Frazer. Cindy was then employed in housekeeping and also worked for ARC.

David Ralph Olson, 62, Fargo, died July 6, 2014 at Sanford Health Palliative Care. He is survived by his mother, Eunice, Fargo; brother, Barry Olson, Hillsboro; sister, Gloria (Bob) Nysveen, Fargo; nephew, Chad (Irina) Nysveen, West Fargo; niece, Amy (Tim) Welter, Mapleton; and several great nephews and nieces; an uncle, Clyde (Jeanne) Olson, Hunter, ND; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph E. Olson; grandparents, Ted and Helen Olson, William and Floy Power; and several aunts and uncles.

The funeral is 2:00 pm Thursday at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.

Roberta Frances (Will) Lutz

Roberta Frances (Will) Lutz Roberta Frances (Will) Lutz, age 80, of Grand Rapids, MN, was taken to be with her loving Savior on July 5, 2014 at Essentia Health, St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. She was born July 3, 1934 in Davenport, IA and lived an interesting and engaging life that took her to live in three continents and eight countries to share Christ. Her elementary education took place in both Iowa and Minnesota. She served as the college homecoming queen in 1953. She graduated from Concordia College, St. Paul, MN, with an AA degree in 1954. Roberta and Bernhard W. Lutz were married in West St. Paul on June 23, 1956. She taught elementary school in Tinley Park, IL, Milwaukee, WI, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Papua New Guinea and Fulda, MN. Roberta and Bernie were blessed with four children, Lori (Craig) Johnson, Robert (Theresa) Lutz, David (Lisa) Lutz and Rebecca Lutz and special friend Chris. Her life was filled with many missionary activities always giving thanks and praise to Jesus for the opportunity to serve Him. Her mission life included eight years in Papua New Guinea, five years in Obot Idim, Nigeria and four years in Beirut Lebanon. While serving in the United States, she was an LWML member, sang in choir, and played the church organ. Roberta and Bernie served parishes in Fulda, MN, Bozeman, MT, Moorhead, MN and Menahga and Wolf Lake, MN. Roberta was a fantastic help-mate for her mission-minded husband, always humble and faithful in every way.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.

Imagean “Jean” Fosse

Imagean “Jean” Fosse Imagean “Jean” Fosse, 80 of Horace, was born on May 15, 1934 in Fargo to Harvey and Mary (Schwandt) Young. She married Ernest Alvin Fosse on December 9, 1950 in Moorhead, MN. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, card games, flowers and watching the MN Twins and FM Redhawks. She sewed much of her daughters’ clothing and made quilts for her grandchildren for their weddings and baby blankets for her great-grandchildren. Jean passed her knowledge of embroidery on to her daughters and granddaughters and also passed on her love of reading to her family. She devoted much of her time to her children and grandchildrens’ activities. Her house was always open to her family and friends, most often with her cookies on the counter.

Jean was involved in many organizations including being a Bluebird Campfire leader, 4-H leader, WELCA officer, Senior Citizens Club, Quilters Guild of North Dakota and was an active member of Horace Lutheran Church.
