FARGO – The Fargo Force added three new players on Friday in the United States Hockey League/Indiana dispersal draft one of which was Penn State commit Denis Smirnov, who, as a USHL rookie, had 41 points in 47 games for Indiana.
ST. PAUL – Chicago Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane scored off a fortunate bounce in overtime, lifting his team past the Minnesota Wild 2-1 to close out their best-of-seven playoff series 4-2 to advance to the Western Conference finals.

ST. PAUL – Defenseman Jared Spurgeon had a goal and an assist as the Minnesota Wild stayed unbeaten at home in the 2014 playoffs, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-2 to even their best-of-seven playoff series at two games apiece Friday.

FARGO – Former Fargo Force defenseman Oleg Yevenko has been named to the National Belarus roster and will compete in the 2014 International Hockey Federation Ice Hockey World Championship from May 9-25 in Yevenko’s hometown of Minsk, Belarus.
FARGO – The Fargo Force took forward Kyle Sylvester, of Warroad, Minn., with the first overall pick in Phase 2 of the United States Hockey League draft on Thursday. The Force also took nine other forwards, 12 defensemen and one goaltender in the draft.
Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson was hit in the throat by a puck on Sunday and still cannot speak, but that will not stop him from playing in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild.
