MOORHEAD – A measure urging Thrivent Financial to rescind restrictions on donations to groups based on their stances on issues such as abortion, sexual orientation or gun control, was passed – barely – by the Northwestern Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
GRAND FORKS – The Rev. Terry Brandt, who has served six years as associate with the bishop of the Eastern North Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, was elected bishop of the synod on Sunday in Grand Forks.
