We know our weather is often windy in the Red River Valley. We have more blizzards than anywhere else in the United States – owing to long winters with snow on the ground and flat terrain that lets the wind flow unimpeded.
It appears that parts of Texas are finally going to get some rain. Much of western Texas and Oklahoma have been as deficient of rainfall as California.
In fact, the Southern Plains and California are both in an ongoing drought for the same reason.
MIAMI - The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on Thursday predicted a "near or below normal" 2014 Atlantic hurricane season, with eight to 13 tropical storms and three to six hurricanes, one or two of which would reach major Category 3 status.
One of the largest and best-known storms is getting smaller. Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, which has captured the attention of anyone with even the slightest interest in astronomy, is not just shrinking but shrinking at an increasing rate.
